Switch for fibre

I need to provide a solution where 30 (ST) fibre (cctv) feeds and 16 Cat6 RJ45 meet. The client wants it across two switches to avoid a single point of failure. What product would you suggest?

Re: Switch for fibre

You can purchase two 4800G switches, with 24 SFP port - 8 of these 24 ports are RJ-45 combo ports. Additionally, install one CX4 2-port Local Connection module, with two CX4 cables to stack the switches as a single entity. Using this solution you can provide ports to all the connections, distribute the links between both switches and aggregate these links using link-aggregation feature.

Then you will have 32 SFP ports (16 on each switch) and 16 RJ-45 ports (8 on each switch). But remember to check the fibre requirements before; the SFP ports on 4800G supports 100/1000Mbps connections.
