Re: The new HP A12900/A11900 switching series?
Hi,
This is the public info available:
12900 is next-gen 12500, based on CLOS fabric and very-large buffers:
http://h17007.www1.hp.com/docs/interop/2013/4AA4-6499ENW.pdf
H3C calls it the 12500-X. Test results look pretty impressive (google translate):
11900 is based on 10500, based on orthoganal fabric, but only the high-end SF linecards are available, and just "normal" buffers:
http://h17007.www1.hp.com/docs/interop/2013/4AA4-6497ENW.pdf
The 11900 is already available in the online configurator, where you can review the line card specs:
http://h17007.www1.hp.com/tw/en/products/configurator/index.aspx
Due to the buffering difference, 12XXX is more positioned as the core device, 11900 is positioned as distribution/aggregation,
Hope this helps,
Best regards,Peter
