Vlan transmission without different subnet

Hi !

First of all sorry for my english :)

I have a huge problem since a long time ago.

We use a lot of 4200g, 5500 switchs.

My problem is :

I have 2 computer and one server. I want the server to be seen by both computer. I want the two computers CANT see themselves but of course communicate with the server.

The 3 machines are on the same LAN, same subnet. i use the vlan 1 & 2 for the server, the vlan 1 for one of the computer and the vlan 2 for the last computer.

So my question : Is it possible ? If it is how ? I tried to set up the ports as access, trunk, hybrid, tag or untagged and i cant do what i want....

Please i need help.

Thanks a lot.

Re: Vlan transmission without different subnet

Hi,

On 5500 switches there is "port isolate" command (don't know about 4200 series). Add those two computers to isolate group - not the server and see the manual about it, maybe it helps.

Best regards,

V.

Re: Vlan transmission without different subnet

Hi !

Thanks for your idea but i have to use vlans because the server must see all the computers and in the future i will create more vlans with more interactions between them.

Thanks.
