best practice for mgmt port on switches

I have a 5700 switch with a bunch of VLANs, one of which is used for network switch management, lets call it vlan 200.

Should I plug the ethernet management port of the 5700 into a switchport that is untagged in 200? There is no chance of causing any sort of spanning tree loop by doing so?

Re: best practice for mgmt port on switches

That should be perfectly fine.

On other note, it is very sad that HPE does not publish any "Best practices" for Comware based switches

Hello,

Maybe not "Best Practices" as such but  there are Configuration Examples like this

Let us know what you find.

Thanks

Ian

Hope that helps - please click "Thumbs up" for Kudos if it does

Re: best practice for mgmt port on switches

But these are exaples of random things that the Comware OS can do (in some way)

It has nothing to do with Best Practices

maybe we just expect "too much" from HPE (that obviously have very little support staff knowledge about OS that thay obviously have nothing much to do with - purchased from 3Com?)
