Hi,
I need to implemente 802.1x authentification using IAS as radius server for implemente a seconde layer of authentication.
I need to know if IAS 2003 can give a methode using password authentication or certificate to ensure this functionality.
on the same edge port, we using olso IP Phones in each voice vlan.
are there in special recomendation when you using thi such solution.

Re: how to implemente RADIUS with 4500 switch
Hello,
IAS services on server 2003 can give a methode using EAP-TLS (certificates), MS-chap v2 (handshake or password) and more.
for the ip phones you should use mac authentication by setting the ports on static (the ports which connect to the ip phones ofcourse).
on the downloads page of you 4500 switch you can download many configuration example pdf files. which are pretty useful. too bad there isn't an complete manual. i have already been looking for it. in case anyone finds it, please do tell me :).
