problem with configuring ports

My Network is a domain with Windows 2003 and 40 workstations with Windows XP. All computers are hooked on 3Com swich 4226t 26port. Event Viewer in some workstations mistake appears showing that network card can not switch to respond to the Windows XP boot time. I watched the forums and found that it is necessary to configure a network card and switch port to fulduplex 100x. I have set the network card, but can not switch to find. I found the console to the following port configuration options: duplex:4 options dot3mautype100base these two options and two dot3mautype10baset. Default option is dot3mautype100. how to set the fulduplex?
