In recent years, the cloud and mobility have had an incredible impact on business environments, creating constant shifts in workforce needs and technology purchases. Graphics-rich Big Data and a more mobile workforce continue to grow in scope and sophistication, with more employees requiring anywhere, anytime access to the same data and applications from a powerful centrally managed source. In light of these needs, HP has introduced a new category within its market-leading HP Z Workstations portfolio: the HP DL380z Virtual Workstation.

DL380z Virtual Workstation_300MB.jpgAnnounced today at Citrix Synergy in Anaheim, the HP DL380z Virtual Workstation is designed to provide businesses with remote access to workstation-class applications from a variety of devices, including thin clients, notebooks and tablets. This solution is perfect for traditional workstation customers who require high-performance, heavy-duty graphics from the cloud.

Bringing It All Together

For employees who work from A to B and everywhere in between, the HP DL380z allows them to access data that is securely stored in the data center. Furthermore, the powerful HP DL380z is an always-on workhorse that can be used by businesses when not in use for virtual workstation sessions.

The HP DL380z also improves the user experience by accessing additional devices such as thin clients for data center power conservation, space and management time. Mobile employees using the HP mt41, or remote employees connecting to the network from a stationary thin client such as the HP t620 or HP t820, can use the HP DL380z to further enhance their machine’s performance capabilities when powering programs and graphics-rich applications.

For users who prefer a blade-based solution with the broadest virtualized graphics support of any server in the industry, the HP ProLiant WS460c Graphics Server Blade is another offering from HP that is centralized in the datacenter to deliver improved uptime and business continuity, enhanced security and reduced IT costs.

Virtualization Technology

HP DL380z brings together HP’s industry leading server technology, NVIDIA® GRID™ GPU virtualization technology and Citrix® virtualization technology into one solution from the WW leader in workstations:

  • The latest dual NVIDIA GRID K2 graphics cards with support for up to eight midrange workstations
  • NVIDIA Quadro K6000, K5000 and K4000 graphics technology with support for up to four high-end workstation users
  • Citrix XenServer and HDX 3D Pro virtualization technology to ensure high-performance remote access to 3D CAD, CAM, CAE, PDM and other workstation class applications

Unique HP Software Included

In addition to the partner benefits shared above, the HP DL380z Virtual Workstation comes with these features pre-installed:

  • The recently released HP Remote Graphics Software 7 (RGS 7) adds true workstation productivity from a tablet, while bringing intuitive touch controls to non-touch applications
  • HP Velocity software boosts performance with adaptive network analysis, packet loss protection, congestion detection and Wi-Fi acceleration
  • The HP DL380z keeps intellectual property centralized and secure by transmitting encrypted pixel data over LAN or WAN to remote users, ensuring sensitive data stays protected

As work environments continue to change, centralized management is critical. Find out more about how the HP DL380z is helping businesses navigate the ever-changing workplace. If you’re heading to Citrix Synergy this week, make sure to stop by HP booth 205 now through May 8 and say hello.
