The science behind the simplicity of HP OneView—Part three

on ‎11-05-2013 12:16 PM

In this third post in our series on HP OneView, we get into the nuts and bolts of what went into developing HP’s new systems management tool. To get a better understanding of how HP OneView was built (and how to get started) Bryan Jacquot, HP Distinguished Technologist explains some of the development and deployment thought that went into designing this new CI tool.

It’s delivered initially as a virtual machine appliance in Open Virtualization Format. So it’s very easy to get going. You just drop it on a VM host and you’re up and running in a matter of minutes. That’s a pretty big deal. Our customers told us that setting up these management tools can be time-consuming. With HP OneView, you have a single-screen experience with some common questions that you answer and then you’re up and ready to go. This is where HP OneView delivers on the promise of cutting expensive set up time—we’re talking hours and days into a matter of minutes—using Software Defined Networking.
