Data Protector 6.21

Hi,

I'm currently testing the upgrade of Data Protector from v6.11 to 6.21.  I've used 6.20 upgrade and then DPWINBDL_00621.EXE to move to the new version.  However, whenever I check the version number I'm shown that I'm still using v6.20.

Is this a 'feature' or am I missing something?

Thanks,

John

Re: Data Protector 6.21

Hi John,

You can check by using omnicheck -patches

If you have <b621> after some of them then everything should be fine.

You need to install the latest patches as well, core first, then cell server then the rest.

Re: Data Protector 6.21

Hi Jeremy,

Thanks for the help.  Unfortunately it doesn't really answer my question.

The patches I now have are (from omnicheck -patches):

Patch level         Patch description
===========================================
DPWIN_00619         Core Component
DPWIN_00619         Core of Integrations component
DPWIN_00610         Cell Manager Component
DPWIN_00620         Disk Agent
DPWIN_00622         Media Agent
DPWIN_00611         User Interface
DPWIN_00611         Manager-of-Managers User Interface
DPWIN_00541(b621)   Java User Interface
DPWIN_00617         English Documentation (Guides, Help)
Number of patches found: 9.

However, whenever I use the GUI to examine the version of Data Protector it still says 6.20.  Is this correct?

TIA,

John

Re: Data Protector 6.21

Yes, that's correct.  It's because 621 is a patch bundle rather than a distinct version in its own right, I think.
