Apache java memory pinned

I have Oracle 9iAS 1.0.2.2 with HP-UX Java C.01.18.04 and the Apache "java" process never seems to swap (it consumes always the same 260M of RAM according to gpm).

Oracle says it's "probably" due to the 1.1.7 java we're using and says to upgrade to 1.2.2.

In the memory regions report it shows as Other RSS, Private RSS, and Other VSS.

Does someone know what is causing this?

Re: Apache java memory pinned

Ryna,

It's due to the poor programming practices that today's developers produce. It's too bad they most of them don't understand system management and that memory and cpu cycles are NOT unlimited.

I agree, and this is rare, with Oracle: Upgrade java!
