Re: COBOL license server

Hi,

Is it Microfocus Cobol License manager. Then you will have to install this on the other HP-UX box and start the license manager using MF License Administration Services (mflmadm) tool and the mflmman to start the license manager.

I hope this helps

Re: COBOL license server

To move most cobol license servers including Microfocus requires a reinstallation of the product.

A client on machine B or C might be able to use the cobol compiler on box A, that depends on the license manager running and whether it supports that (see prior post).

If however you actually want to run the license manager on box B or D or E, it must be installed there.

Re: COBOL license server

I am not too sure how this works , anyway I do not see mflmadm but what I see if lmstat which gives you thr status of the license server and flexlm to boot the license and there is a license.dat file which contains the server machine name and a generated KEY of that machine , if I copy every thing to another host and change the host name in the license file it does not want to boot .

Re: COBOL license server

Hi,

If it is flexlm, then you should have executables, license.dat files in the /lam/bin directory.

I am not sure if copying the files will start the license manager, you could try that. But I would recommned to install it and change the liscence.dat file to the new box and start the license manager using lmgrd. Look for the appropriate commnads in /lam/bin.
