Can I port my fbackup data to win2k

Is there a way to download data from a fbackup tape to windows 2000 advanced server? I understand fbackup is UPUX proprietary.

hmmmmmm

I can think of half a dozen of them, but they all require an HPUX box to restore to initially.

Tan ,
To my knowledge you are right!
fbackup is a HPUX utility for taking backups.
YOu have to use 'frecover' to restore the files taken using fbackup.
Then probably you can use NFSmaestro or samba to copy files to your windows machine.

'fbackup' is a proprietary command of HP. It is not supported on M$ systems.

You best bet is to either set up an NFS mount point to a NT server, or set up samba directory access from your HPUX system and restore the files where they can be accessed.
Anyone for a Mutiny ?

Dear Tan,
You cannot read fbackup tapes on a Microsoft operating system such as W2k. You can use Reflections ftp to move files or make a tape in using the tar command and restoring on W2K using a program such as tar98. You can download evaluation copies of this from the web.
