Re: Cannot create database

What user owns the disk areas?

Is it the same user that owns the oracle binaries?

http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&ct=res&cd=1&url=http%3A//oracle.ittoolbox.com/groups/groups.asp%3Fv%3Doracle-db-l%26i%3D805709&ei=_M4VQ_HQKo7maJTo5e0N

Might help a bit.

Re: Cannot create database

Hi Benoit

I refer to Metalink Note:332476.1 "Create Database Failed With ORA-01092"

I think this is to do with the fact you did not specify a datafile for tablespace temp

Re: Cannot create database

hi,

can you try the same using the DBCA?

As mentioned above, there may be something missing in the script..

Re: Cannot create database

Following string is from Oracle site:
-------------------------

The problem can be caused if no datafile clause is specified for a tablespace defined in create database.

In the example,No datafile clause for default tablespace clause specified.

Solution
1.In create database statement , Modify the default tablespace clause to include datafile clause .

2.Set DB_CREATE_FILE_DEST .If this parameter is specified datafile clause is not needed and Oracle will create datafiles in the destination specified.

Re: Cannot create database

Found solution using scripts created by DBCA.
