DBCA took about 6 hours to create DB on HP-UX
I Want to install Oracle 10g on 2 HP 9000 box. I started by reding the
oracle documents. Everything installed well. but when i was executing
dbca to creating database everythig started. For creating ASM Partition
(2*12G) it took about 1 hour to complete. After that to create database
it took about 5 hours to complete.
I have a same problem when i was to import data to database when i
create datafile.
when i was installing Oracle 10g database it warned that i missed
"Jun03GQPK11i_AUX_Patch(B.03.10.29)" software.
What is that software? it seems that is something like quality package.
but i installed HP-UX 11i June 2004 and GOLDQPK11i jun 2004 and every
patches that oracle said in Oracle RAC document.
CPU Idle time is about 100% in both boxes.
Is this problem related to JAVA?Is it necessary to install JAVA patches
too?
Please advice.

Re: DBCA took about 6 hours to create DB on HP-UX
Oracle Universal Installer (OUI), complains about the patch June03Gqpk11l_aUX_pATCH when installing Oracle Server - Enterprise Edition - Version: 10.1.0.2, on HP-UX PA-RISC (64-bit)
Metalink says that this is related to the BUG (Bug: 3512068).
Due to this bug the new pre-requisite checker Java module is checking for product-specific required packages and hence during an installation of Oracle10g 10.1.0.2 on an HPUX 11i server OUI reports following messages:
Prerequisite checks failures :
Checking for X11MotifDevkit(0.0), found Not found. Failed
Checking for X11MotifDevKitMOTIF21-PRG(0.0), found Not found. Failed
Checking for Jun03GQPK11i _Aux_Patch(B.03.10.29), found Not found. Failed
The installation documentation suggests that these packages are optional, not required.
As a workaround you can either ignore the errors, or comment out the following lines from the stage/prereq/refhost.xml file on the first Oracle10g 10.1.0.2 database distribution CD:
PACKAGE VALUE="X11MotifDevKit" VERSION="0.0"
PACKAGE VALUE="X11MotifDevKit.MOTIF21-PRG" VERSION="0.0"
PACKAGE VALUE="Jun03GQPK11i_Aux_Patch" VERSION="B.03.10.29"

Re: DBCA took about 6 hours to create DB on HP-UX
Thank you for the comments, but what about DBCA problem. Is it usual to take about 6 hours for creating a databse?
In my setup i used a SAN connected with 2 HP 9000. I did not install ServiceGaurd and SG extention for RAC. I tried to use Oracle solution.I just installed Oracle CRS and oracle DB as they said in its documents. So i have to use ASM for database storage and raw device for CRS files.Do you think I do something wrong? Is this solution correct or i must use SG extention for RAC?
Please advice

6 hours is too much!
did you perform the pre installation tasks?
did you install the Java SDK 1.4.2 latest patches?

Re: DBCA took about 6 hours to create DB on HP-UX
i would also suggest that you install the latest:
a. GOLDAPPS11i - Gold Applications Patches for HP-UX 11i v1, December 2004
b. GOLDBASE11i - Gold Base Patches for HP-UX 11i v1, December 2004
both downloadable as a single bundle...

Yes i have done all the prerequirements that oracle wrote in its document.
