Database Down abnormally

Hi
We have two HP databse server with HP-UX 11.11 installed on it. A internal application is running on our department and whole database server is stored on it. Oracle 10g is installed on it.
Veritas cluster solution is installed on it. Sometime Database is down automatically. Wat can be the problem and wat can be solution for it?

Shalom,

Check the oracle alert logs for problems. There will be an error message that corresponds with downtime and it can be helpful in finding the problem. Post it here or search http://metalink.oracle.com for the solution.

hi,

The alert.log should give you the exact times when the database was shutdown. If you find a similarity between the downtime periods then it must be schedule script that is performing the shutdown. Otherwise, an unsual condition is causing the instance to crash.

You will need to also investigate into any system errors as well. Check you /var/adm/syslog/syslog.log
