Domain name in Oracle 8.1.7

I don't have a domain name,I have /etc/hosts,in the installation of Oracle it demands the domain name.I can insert my hostname without domain name ( host and not host.domain.com ) ? Links and documents ?

Underscore in hostname is problem for Oracle (hostname_host) ?

I have not fully explored domain names in Oracle, but I am pretty sure that the Oracle domain name (global_name, sqlnet.ora, tnsnames.ora, etc.) does not need to be the same as the 'Unix' domain name (hosts).
