HP 9000 / J210 boot problem

I need some help. I've inherited an HP 9000 / J210 Workstation with no documentation. During the boot process, the LCD displays the following
1) INIT 3000
2.) INIT 3002
3.) FLT 10BC
Selftest CPU

I saw an online reference which pointed to the "J Class Service Handbook" for explanations on Fault codes, but I can't seem to find that document online. Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

Paula,

Thanks. I found further references to LCD FLT errors in the two references you pointed out, but they tend to focus on memory errors. If I could find a copy of the Service Manual for this model, I think I'd be in luck. Thanks again.

Re: HP 9000 / J210 boot problem

Hi,

I think you need to focus on your CPU.

If you're technical, try to remove the CPU.
Put the CPU back and boot.
If you have two CPU's try to boot from one.
Put the other CPU back and check.

FLT 10bc means: Bad CPU Clock Speed

Good Luck
