How to install oracle 8.1.7 64bit on an HP-UX 11i

When SHLIB_PATH is '$ORACLE_HOME/lib',oracle can run.but I modify it to '$ORACLE_HOME/lib64', oracle can't run.Why?

Hello,

my first idea is that you have installed an 32bit release of Oracle, the second is that you do not need to set the SHLIB_PATH, if you relink Oracle to your local system:
$ORACLE_HOME/bin/relink

Hi

Think what you are experiencing is the right behaviour as;

SHLIB_PATH is the older designator that is used for libraries that still are 32 bit (even though you have installed the 64 bit version, Oracle has some 32 bit code in it)

The 64 bit libraries I belive are referenced by LD_LIBRARY_PATH.
