Info on best mount options for rman backup filesystems on 11iv3

Hello all,

We have some large (2-3TB) databases on 11iv3, under oracle 11gr2.  We run the data, redo and archive mounts with "-o cio", and get generally good performance, but our backups are a different story.

The backups go to nearline storage from the SAN so IO to backup filesystems is slower than that on the oracle datafile mounts.

What mount options do you recommend for the backup filesystems being used by rman for online backups?

I can't find many resources detailing rman performance with vxfs which actually discuss mount options - I am happy to trawl through any documentation if anyone can point me to it.
