Installation problems Oracle 8.1.6 64bit and HP-UX 11.00

When nearing the end of the installation of Oracle I get the error Error in invoking target ioracle of makefile /u01/oracle/product/8.1.6/rdbms/lib/ins_rdbms.mk.
Can anyone help with this.

What is the error you're getting? There should be log files under /u01/oracle/product/oraInventory/logs.

The problem you have involves the LIBC at the kernel compiling time. You've to download the latest patch PHCO_24148 so you could rebuild Oracle's kernel to match your hardware. It's a known issue to the people, as me, that administers SAP over HP-UX.

I do have the patch PHCO_24148
loaded.

Do you have the maxdsiz_64bit parameter seted to at least 4.294.967.296?

Just want to second Jorge; pump up the maxdsize_64bit.
I didn't go so high as Jorges value but I belive the Oracle release Notes says at least 256M for this parameter.

forgot to say that for some reason you also need to increase the maxdsiz parameter as well, even if you run and install 64 bit.
(I guess some 32 bit stuff is done in there)
