I'm running up to 10 instances on a single machine. No problems.

Removing old semaphores and queues could be a way to solve the problem.

Since an address mapping error occured it could also help to re-link the executables.


Please provide information if you added any patches to your Linux or Oracle which might cause the problem. Also the information of the alert log might give some hints why the instance crashed.

After the instance crashed we updated the linux kernel from Kernel 2.5.39 to Kernel 2.5.40....... Shud this be a prob????
