Kernel Params for Oracle 8.1.6

Hi All,
Does anyone run 64 bit Oracle 8.1.6 on L Class?
The machine came to such a situation that it is impossible even from console. RAM is 1GB. When I try to logon to system from anywhere it gives:
----
Console Login: root
/usr/lib/dld.sl: Call to mmap() failed - BSS /usr/lib/libnsl.1
/usr/lib/dld.sl: Not enough space
-----
After that I rebooted the system. My swapinfo:
-------------
#swapinfo -ta
Kb Kb Kb PCT START/ Kb
TYPE AVAIL USED FREE USED LIMIT RESERVE PRI NAME
dev 2097152 0 2097152 0% 0 - 1 /dev/vg00/lvol2
reserve - 276040 -276040
memory 725620 38312 687308 5%
total 2822772 314352 2508420 11% - 0 -

Re: Kernel Params for Oracle 8.1.6

If you check with :
swlist -l -fileset -a state.
Are there any filesets in a install state.

Do you get the message when the Total swapspace is 11%?

Is there a Oracle or other database running on the system?

Re: Kernel Params for Oracle 8.1.6

Hi there.
Try to get the Installation guide from Oracle Metalink or Oracle Technet.
In this documentation you should find your answers.

Are you using this as a Openview Server with NNM or ITO running on it?

This could be a memory leak within one of the Applications.
