Migration of systems with Oracle CRS

Hi all!
We have an Oracle Clusterware installation on 2 hp-ux mashines /rx2620, hp-ux 11.23/.
We are using ASM, based on row devices /actually SAN-luns, presented by PowerPath/ placed on "/dev/rdsk", owner "oracle:dba".

Now we need to migrate this configuration
on 2 new mashines /hp-ux 11.23 again/.
I intend to use Ignite to clone OS of these mashines,but I wonder how to migrate
disks, because the paths and the row device files will be different I suppose?

Any best practices?

hi stanimir ;
actually you can move instance numbers of the device files and get same device numbers in the new systems. please make a search ioinit.

Hasan.

Re: Migration of systems with Oracle CRS

ASM doesn't care about disk device special files... as long as you make sure your new box can see the same set of LUNs with correct permissions, and you have ASM_DISKSTRING set appropriately, it really shouldn't matter if (for example) /dev/rdsk/c4t5d0 becomes /dev/rdsk/c9t5d0
