ORACLE 10G Installation on HP-UX 11.11 PA-RISC

I have the problem in installating Oracle 10.2.0.1 on HP-UX PA-RISC 11.11

I have attached the detailed mail about the Problem. Request you to advice on the installation:

These are core components of HP Serviceguard, which is required to install Oracle 10.2.0.1 RAC

Serviceguard is available if licensed on your Application cd's. Otherwise you will need to license it and install it. Otherwise no Oracle installation that requires RAC.

If you don't intend to install RAC then you have the wrong path list and need to begin again.

Hi Protter,
I want to go with Oracle Basic Installation, with this requirement you suggest me that PHSS_32731 is not required. Are these patches PHSS_32509 and PHSS_32510 are required ??Iam getting problems in relink to make file during Oracle installation. Installation log shows that PHSS_32731 ,PHSS_32509 and PHSS_32510 failed. Hence i tried to install the patches, errors I encountered during installation of PHSS_32509 and PHSS_32510 patches are pasted below.

PHSS_32509:
The patch fileset "PHSS_32509.C,r=1.0" may only be installed ^
upon a previously installed base fileset. The specification
for this base fileset is "C-ANSI-C.C,fr=B.11.11.12,v=HP".
Since there is no fileset on the target or selected from the
source which matches this specification, fileset
"PHSS_32509.C,r=1.0" will be excluded.

PHSS_32510:
The patch fileset "PHSS_32510.LANG-AUX,r=1.0" may only be
installed upon a previously installed base fileset. The
specification for this base fileset is
"Auxiliary-Opt.LANG-AUX,fr=B.11.11.12,v=HP". Since there is
no fileset on the target or selected from the source which
matches this specification, fileset "PHSS_32510.LANG-AUX,r=1.0" will be excluded.

Attached the Installation log again for ref.

Request you to advice on the necessity of the above patches? and why the Installation process is not successfull.

I repeat again..I WANT THE ORACLE BASE INSTALLATION.

I'm suggesting the patch list is either wrong, which means see ORacle support and skip the patch requiring Serviceguard.

If you accidently looked at the RAC patch list then you need a different patch list, which means going back to the Oracle website and making sure you used the correct list. Their site is confusing and that's a compliment.

What I'm sure of is that one patch is trying to patch Serviceguard and you don't need Serviceguard for a basic Oracle installation.

You can try the other two patches and dependencies and start the Oracle installation.

Oracle 10.2 has a patch checker and will fail to install if all required patches are not in place. Do be sure you are using Oracle basic media and not RAC, it should be pretty clear on the media or the filenames(if you downloaded).

Hi,
some of the PHSSx patches are being super seeded by latest versions. checkout for the latest versions. The problem with oracle is that it has intelligence to look for only the specifies patchset but not the upgraded version. infact i also faced a similar problem.

I don't think AnsiC is free. I do believe it may be required for Oracle.

There is a trail version possibly at http://software.hp.com

This may not satisfy Oracle requirments.

If you are internal, yes it is free. Drop me a message if you don't know where to get it.

I don't think your Oracle installation needs those patches to install. It just needs the bundled C compiler to link.

(Also, instead of attaching .msg files, you may want to attach .txt (or .tar if more than one).)

If bundle of C compiler works fine for Oracle Installation, Please give the downloadable patch for the same. I have problem at Relinking of make files.
