Re: Oh Dear

Oh Dear

There are three engineers in a car; an electrical engineer, a
chemical engineer and a Microsoft engineer. Suddenly the car just
stops by the side of the road, and the three engineers look at
each other wondering what could be wrong.

The electrical engineer suggests stripping down the electronics
of the car and trying to trace where a fault might have occurred.

The chemical engineer, not knowing much about cars, suggests that
maybe the fuel is becoming emulsified and getting blocked
somewhere.

Then, the Microsoft engineer, not knowing much about anything,
comes up with a suggestion: "If we close all the windows, get out,
get back in, then open the windows again, maybe it'll work!?"

Re: Oh Dear

Paula, Paula, Paula........... That's pretty bad. Sounds about right for MS though.

I'm disappointed that there wasn't a Unix engineer in the car too, though.

He'd say something like: Let's try to run it in debug mode and see where the problem is.

Re: Oh Dear

hey, it's not so wrong!
I was driving a diesel car this week and turned the ignition and got no contact.. all the electrics wer fine!
I tried it for around 5 mins before I decided to call a buddy for a lift home (w2k instructor).
He suggested to get out of the car, do the central clocking to make sure it was open properly and get in and try again.. and hey, it didn't work!
Eventually after trying over and over it worked, apparently diesel cars need time to heat up a bit! In any case my hands were still clean..

Re: Oh Dear

The one that I heard was:-

A computer engineer, a systems analyst, and a programmer were driving down a mountain when the brakes gave out. They screamed down the mountain, gaining speed, and finally managed to grind to a halt, more by luck than anything else, just inches from a thousand foot drop to jagged rocks. They all got out of the car.

The computer engineer said, "I think I can fix it."

The systems analyst said, "No, I think we should take it into town and have a specialist look at it."

The programmer said, "OK, but first I think we should get back in and see if it does it again."

Re: Oh Dear

Hi Guys

Thanks for joining in; it is just what I need at the end of another busy week.

Mind you I managed to have Champers and canap?s on the London Eye last Night. (It?s a very big slow Ferris wheel across the river from the Palace of St James).

Wonderful views.

Have a great weekend

Re: Oh Dear

It appears that after his death, Albert Einstein found himself working as the doorkeeper at the Pearly Gates. One slow day, he found that he had time to chat with the new entrants. To the first one he asked, "What's your IQ?" The new arrival replied, "190". They discussed Einstein's theory of relativity for hours. When the second new arrival came, Einstein once again inquired as to the newcomer's IQ. The answer this time came "120". To which Einstein replied, "Tell me, how did the Cubs do this year?" and they proceeded to talk for half an hour or so. To the final arrival, Einstein once again posed the question, "What's your IQ?". Upon receiving the answer "70", Einstein smiled and replied, "Got a minute to tell me about Windows XP?"

Re: Oh Dear

If it were UNIX, the tires would fall off before the engine quit working.
