Oracle 10g install on HPUX PA RISC - error duing installation

Hi,

Duirng installation of Oracle 10g on HPUX PS RISC, I got 2 errors:

1) During "Linking Oracle Database libraries", I got the following error:

"Error in invoking target 'clientonlyinstall' of makefile '/opt/oracle/app/oracle/product/10gDB/ldap/lib/ins_ldpa.mk' See for details".

I tried Retry a couple of times & the Error message persisted, so I continued.

2) I ecountered the next error at "Oracle Database Configuration Assistant".

The error msg was:
"Error in Process:
/opt/oracle/app/oracle/product/10gDB/bin/orapwd"

I hit "Ok" & the installation continued.

Finally at the end the status of "Oracle Configuration Assistant" was failed.

Now before installation of Oracle 10g on HPUX PS RISC, I had a huge discussion about the patches necessary for Oracle 10g on HPUX PA RISC.

Looks like all the PHSS patches needed by Oracle 10g is installed on the system.

Now here is the dilemma:

Oracle 10g installer reports a couple of missing OS patches on HPUX PA RISC.

If I try to install these patches, swinstall reports that these patches are already part of the patch bundle & is installed.

what do I do now?. Please let me know how to resolve this issue?

Hi,

first of all, verify that your environment has been properly prepared for the installation.

All the information is available in the installation guide - pre-install tasks.

It is recommended that you run the VALIDATE metalink script to identified all the missing software, patches and kernel tunings.


The latest HP quality pack and other required patch bundles are available at:
http://h20293.www2.hp.com/portal/swdepot/displayProductsList.do?category=ER

Also, if you have metalink access, you may log a Service Request for faster resolution.
