Oracle 11i installation in ia64 server.

can any one help me, iam in trouble.

1. I already installed oracle application 11.5.10.2 on hpux 11.23 Tru64 server.But now i want to install same oracle application software (11.5.10.2) on hpux 11.23 ia64 processor . is it possible then how?

Hi,
For the Oracle Applications Installation Update Notes, Release 11i (11.5.10.2), ia64 is supported, so normally possible.
"For HP-UX Itanium, Rapid Install supports database tier installations for multi-node systems."
Nevertheless, post the message on hpux forum.

Linux forum.

HP-UX will install on ia64 Itanium server. applications need to be specific to that platform.

Oracle does have Itanium versions of most of their applications.

So first off - go back to your system and establsih some real facts... there is no such version as "hpux 11.23 Tru64"

There is:

- HP-UX11.23 IA - which runs on Integrity (Itanium) Servers
- HP-UX11.23 PA which runs on HP9000 (PA-RISC) Servers


Tru64 is a *completely* different Operating System that runs on HP Alpha servers.

So go back to the system you claim to have installed oracle applications on and run:

uname -a
model

and post the results here. do the same for the system you now want to install on and then at least we know you have some facts.

However as I said in the other post, if the system really is a HP-UX11.23/ia64 system and you are trying to install any verion of the applications component of Oracle E Business Suite 11.x, you will be out of luck as only the database component is supported on the ia64 platform. v12 of EBS is fully supported on the HP-UX/ia64 platform.
