Oracle 23 and 64 LISTENERS conflicting ( what gives ??? )

Installed Oracle 8.1.7 32 and 64 bit on hpux 11.0.

I can start either a 32 bit instance and its listener, or a 64 bit instance and its listener but not both instances and a lsitener for them both or two listeners for each install.

I tried changing the name of the listeners to LIST32 and LIST64, port numbers, add the 32 bit instances on the 64 bit tnsnames.ora and the other way around. The error message is always the same.

when trying to start the 64 bit listener, I get this :

TNS-1106: Listener using listener name LIST32 has already been started.

when trying to start the 32 bit listener, I get LIST64 already started.

SO, how can I get both listeners going here ?

Thanks,

Henrique Silva

PS.: No luck with the 32 bit DBD Oracle install either :-((

It is recommended to configure listeners on the higher oracle version.

So, configure just one listener.ora, with two listeners if you like.

try to Stop all listeners from all versions. Check the system for any listener yet running. kill that listeners.

Then start the two listeners from the high version.
