Re: Oracle 8i / Application Rel. 11 or 11i Accounts Receivables / HP-UX 11i

Hi Dieter.
We use Applications as well, but older versions
( database 8.0.5.2 and Application 10.7. charmode ).
What i would like to know is, what we should take into consideration for an upgrade to
database 8.0.6 and Applications 11.03
We use a V2500 / 12 CPU / 12 GB RAM / 860 GB diskspace at the moment. We run 21 databases
in different languages with a summarized SGA size of approx. 3.3 GB . We would like to run the Application webserver on this machine as well. We have approx. 300 users.

Good question.

It will take some time to find the documents describing the procedures. I would advise to do an upgrade to 8.0.6.1. instead of 8.0.6.

Oh, just another thought. We discovered a lot of problems working with Oracle WebDb. I heared from an Oracle Consultant that even they prefer working with Apache. We did this too and the stability is ok now.
