Re: Oracle 9i Listener

Are you running Oracle on an MPEiX server or on a PC running Windows? If the latter, then you are in the wrong room; please call Oracle for assistance.

Re: Oracle 9i Listener

To whom it may concern,

ORACLE 9i, is not supported on the 3000. ORACLE left the HP3000 product line in 1995. One can trace the reduction in 'ecosystem' support to that @$#%#!^%$ decision...

Re: Oracle 9i Listener

TNS 12546 means you don't have read access to the Oracle home directoy.

oerr tns 12546 (or oerr tns 12560 / oerr tns 00516)

12546, 00000, "TNS:permission denied"
// *Cause: User has insufficient privileges to perform the requested operation.
// *Action: Acquire necessary privileges and try again.

Check the permissions on the directories, and make sure the "oracle" userid has sufficient access rights to read into the ORACLE_HOME areas.

And make sure the variable ORACLE_HOME is set and correct for the user (under windows).
