Oracle 9i installation

Hi,

I want to install Oracle 9i on HP-UX 11i v2. I have SG and Veritas VM on my systems. Can anyone point me to some document where I can get the installation procedure ?

Please help me as I am doing this for first time.

Thanks a lot!

Re: Oracle 9i installation

If you have sufficient resources available on each node , then you can perform Oracle 9i installation on each of them .
Check for available memory , swap , disk space , disks configured with VM for oracle.

I would prefer to switch over the packages running on one node to another because it is safe to do so. Moreover if the patch status of each node as not as per required in the oracle installation pre-requisites document, then anyway you need to install those patches and they may would require a reboot.

Refer the document mentioned above as well
a metalink document 169706.1 for requirements installaing oracle 9i on HP-UX.

Re: Oracle 9i installation

The document available at technet.oracle.com where it can be downloaded or metalink.oracle.com or on the actual distribution media is what you should use.

Its very detailed, has a let of pre-install checks to do and actually worked rather well for our DBA at my last job.

Follow that document precisely especially on patching and kernel paramters and you should be all right.
