Oracle Application Server 10g on HP-UX11.11(PA-Risc,64bit)
I have successfully installed Oracle Application Server 10g on HP-UX11.11.
There remains a unresolved problem.
Starting opmnctl with a /etc/resolv.conf present lasts about 10 times longer as when there is no resolv.conf available.
I have tried all kind of stuff with /etc/nsswitch.conf but the different timescale behaviour remains.
Any idea or even any suggestions for remedy.
Any help greatly appreciated.
Best regards Franz H.

Re: Oracle Application Server 10g on HP-UX11.11(PA-Risc,64bit)
Most likely cause based on our experience is slow response of the servers in /etc/resolv.conf
we have not had this problem.

Re: Oracle Application Server 10g on HP-UX11.11(PA-Risc,64bit)
The problem persists and the reason for it is still not found.
One thing is very clear: The nameserver-response is fast for all stuff except for OracleAS10g.
I cannot answer the question whether oracle uses its own way of resolving addresses.
I'll open a new metalink tar concerning this question
Best reagrds
