Oracle Database Console

Why would Oracle database console take almost 8 time longer to start than the standard oracle database console should on two of my HP virtual machines?
I don't have any errors on the virtual machines.

Re: Oracle Database Console

Shalom,

Factors to consider as there is no definitive answer:

1) Size of executable.
2) Memory in use prior to starting the console.
3) SGA requirements of databases running.
4) Overall system memory may be exhausted when you get to this new application.
5) OS patches required to run console not installed.
6) Oracle patch required for this application.

Re: Oracle Database Console

Steven,
Thank you for the reply,

Oracle database console will start and run, it just takes longer than the Database Admin. says it should. Approx 50 Second. The guest are taking about 300 seconds to start the database console.
I have install the latest OS patches and the Database Admin. said he installed the latest database patches for oracle 11g. Both guest show they are only using about 40% of the memory when we start the database console.
