Solution
Hi
oerr ora 214
00214, 00000, "controlfile '%s' version %s inconsistent with file '%s' version %
s"
// *Cause: An inconsistent set of controlfiles, datafiles/logfiles, and redo
// files was used.
// *Action: Use a consistant set of controlfiles, datafiles/logfiles, and redo
// log files. That is, all the files must be for the same database
// and from the same time period.
Thus you have had it
See what the differen ce is and then try using one of the files copied to the other name so that they are the same

Re: Oracle Recovery Error
ORA-00214 means an inconsistent set of control files, datafiles, and redo log files was used.
To resolve this use a consistent set of control files, datafiles, and redo log files. That is, all the files must be for the same database and from the same time period.
Regards,
Simon
