Oracle Version for 11.11

Hi all,

I am installing Oracle 9i on an HP-UX 11.11 system.

The install CD I am using is Release 2 (9.2.0.1.0) for HP 9000 Series HP-UX.

Question:
Is there a specific version of Oracle that I need to use if I am installing 9i on an 11.11 OS?

Re: Oracle Version for 11.11

Robert, here is a document that I got (2 years ago!) which defines versions. It tells you which Oracle CD to install on which version of HP-UX.

You want to find the new version of this document:

Re: Oracle Version for 11.11

Every Oracle release from 7 to current will work on 11.11 OS. Even though all are not supported by Oracle.

The key thing you need to determine is the number of bits in the OS. 64 bit Oracle will not work on a 32 bit 11.11 install. Oracle 9i releases state whether they are 32 bit or 64 bit.

If this is a fresh install on a 64 bit machine I suggest you obtain and use 64 bit Oracle 9.2.x software from Oracle.

The patching requirements are quite rigorous, please be sure to follow that and kernel recommendations very carefully.
