Oracle and Ingress

I have An rp7410 server with 4 CPU's and 4GB of ram runnig HP-UX 11i.
Is there a problem with running oracle and Ingress DataBases at the same time on this machine ?

Re: Oracle and Ingress

If oracle is 64 bit and ingres 32 bit there is no problem.

You may incurr in problem if both are 32 bit apps, because they will share the first 2G of memory, not using the other 2G.

When you check the kernel specification, remember to always keep the higher values.

Thanx Massimo Bianchi for your quickes response.

Both Oracle and ingress are 64 bit versions is it OK ?

Re: Oracle and Ingress

If both are 64bit then you should encounter no problem.

Plan carefully your kernel parameters, and the game will play easy.

For the Ingres installation, it's worth checking out this thread dealing with performance and high powered servers;
