Oracle installation fails

Hi good people,

This is regarding a problem with ORacle install.
Oracle 9i 9.2
HP UX 11 with QPK for Sept 2002

The problem :
While running make -f ins_rdbms.mk I get the following error :

/usr/ccs/bin/ld: Can't find library: ":libcl.sl"

I see that library file under /usr/lib directory

This is on a machine which is 32 bit.

Any help is appreciated

My guess is that Oracle 9i 9.2 is 64-bit and your machine is 32-bit?

Yes, I thought so. Here is an excerpt from the release notes:

32-bit O/S Support
Do not run Oracle9i on a 32-bit operating system. Oracle9i release 2 (9.2.0.1.0) is offered in a 64-bit version only

thanks for that bit, another question then. Is it possible to install 64 bit HP/UX on R380 server, I cant find that info easily and HP will get back by tomorrow.

It looks like the R380 will run 64-bit HP-UX 11.00. Here is the URL to the 11.00 Installation and Update guide:
