Hello Gurus ,
I have oracle 10g on 2 node SG cluster , the orainventory also has bee installed on SAN disk configured in cluster .
We intend to host application on machine and db on another with mutual failover.However , we require oracle client in App machine also .
Initallt when Oracle ins talltion was doen , Oracle Ineventory was kept in shared disk .Now when wei ns tall the clinet in App server , we will have 2 Ora Entries , so when the package moves there might be some issues .
Please suggest

Solution
I'm presuming you are using sepereate volume groups and filesystems for the application and the database, so no problems there. The issue you will have if not careful is with using the OUI.
My way of working this would be to have 2 seperate oraInst.loc files on the shared disk for each package (rather than just one in /var/opt/oracle) and then use the ORAINST environment variable or -invPtrLoc option when calling runInstaller...
