Performance issues
Hi all,
we merged two databases in produuction environment.After merging the databases the performance is very slow..
please suggest me what are the ways to analyse the problem and resolve it..
Is it possible to analyse the performance using quest software .if so,please provide the deatils regarding how to configure quest software and how to analyse the performance issue.

Please post your server and SAN specs and $ORACLE_HOME/dbs/init$SID.ora and
admin/$SID/bdump/alert.log files.

hi Nirmal,
for performance monitoring you will require Statspack or Automatic Database Diagnostic Monitor (ADDM) (in oracle 10g).
With Quest software, you can generate a health check which will highlight all the problem areas as per the database configuration.
E.g. In Toad, you can do File->DBA->Health Check.
