SD agent, SD Service Event

What is SD Angent?
What is SD Service Event?
Where they be instaled?: In client machines? or in a server?
Instalation guide does not explain it.

I need to receive a pop-up messaje when a new service call is created.

Re: SD agent, SD Service Event

SD Agent is the Software Distributor deamon which allows the system to accept software installtions, removals and modfifications.

It is restarted as follows:

/sbin/init.d/swagentd -r

Its installed automatically with the OS.

Re: SD agent, SD Service Event

Hi,

The words Service, call, pop-up message etc., tell me that you are talking about "Service Desk" a product in Openview family.

When I was administering Openview before, we thought of using it. You can get the documentation from the openview site.

Hello!

If it's not the SW and you talk about integration between hp and microsoft so
it's integration between OpenView Operations
from HP and the microsoft Operation Mngr.
In the end you recive popup msgs.

Agent for recive the msgs.
Service is for the integration.

I am sorry
I am talking about Open View Service Desk, but I put the message in the wrong forum.
