can you try to cron a script with commands similar to below? [as root??]

su - ftpuser1 -c "$SCRIPT_HOME/myftp.sh"

can you try to cron a script with commands similar to below? [as root??]

su - ftpuser1 -c "$SCRIPT_HOME/myftp.sh"
