Send email from procedure in forms 4.5

I need to create procedure for sending email using Oracle forms 4.5
I have tried using OLE but it gives error in using it in the procedure.
and I have tried also using SMTP but it does not work and does not give an error through compiling, but it gives exception ora-29279 in running.
Can any one help me please?!
If I can't create procedure for sending emails in forms 4.5 and need oracle 8i please tell me to update my database

Oracle probaly is unaware of where the sendmail binary is. There is probably a configuration file where the actual location needs to be set.

If you look at the smtp log /var/adm/syslog/mail.log you may see errors that will help you with Oracle configuration.

Otherwise refer to the Oracle docs and setup the oracle environment variables in the forms 4.5 startup script.
