Tool to alert when database has error

Please let me know if you know of any tools that can call or page the DBA when oracle database has errors.

Which version of Oracle are you using?

In Oracle 10g, you have the Oracle Enterprise Manager Database control tool which is browser based. This tool gives you alerts about both performance and Errors.. and lot more.

You can also configure UTL_MAIL to help you configure custom messages.

Please post more information on your environment and requirements.

what i am looking for is some tools to send my cell phone a message or call me when there is oracle error.
as sample below.

Errors in file /u10/app/oracle/admin/SUN/bdump/sun2_arc0_6636.trc:
ORA-00313: open failed for members of log group 9 of thread 2
ORA-00312: online log 9 thread 2: '+FLASHBACK/sun/onlinelog/redo099.log'
ORA-17503: ksfdopn:2 Failed to open file +FLASHBACK/sun/onlinelog/redo099.log
ORA-00020: maximum number of processes () exceeded

Sorry for this late followup.

If you have metalink access, please read the metalink note: 250657.1 with subject: How to set up 9i Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) to Send an SMS Notification to a Mobile Phone.

Normally, OEM will just sending a 'normal' email, but this will be converted to SMS by the Network provider's email/sms gateway.

In general, most mobile phone networks, provide an SMS email gateway facility which can translate emails into SMS messages. This is an option that needs to be enabled.

I did manage to setup and send out email from outlook to cell phone as text message. and also send out alert from OEM to outlook. But somehow , i could not manage to send out alert from OEM to cell phone event i set it up as SMS. from the cell phone, i could see the message "could not receive the image".
is there a way to send alert as text and not images.
