URGENT HELP ON REINSTALLATION OF 9i

Reinstall oracle 9i bc lost of passwd...
Now, i run into this problem: when we go through the process, it asks where the database files should go, and we enter /u02 into the field. However, everything seems to be dumped into /u01 anyway. Is there some sort of configuration file that is saved when Oracle is uninstalled that could be overriding our entry?

Hi

Didn't thinkt there was.

Anyway you're better of installing the software in one proces and then creating the databases individually, based upon selfmade create scripts, instead of relying on "Windows" wizards.

If you are to manage this database afterwards you'd like to have the full controll of all files and settings.

Attached are a sample script to do the creation.
Just edit this to mach your requirements, and your off. (Remember to put inplace a init.ora linked to $ORACLE_HOME/dbs as well)
