Re: Uprade from 10.20 and Oracle 7.3.3 to 11.0 and Oracle 8i
To upgrade from Oracle 7.3.3 on HP-UX 10.2 to Oracle 8i on HP-UX 11.0, you need to do the following (according to Oracle):
1. backup everything
2. upgrade HP-UX to 11.0 - make sure you get all the HP-UX patches that Oracle recommends
3. Install Oracle 7.3.3 for HP-UX 11.0 on your system, running any upgrade scripts Oracle recommends for the database
4. Install Oracle 8i on your HP-UX 11.0 system, and migrate your database. Oracle 8i has a migration utility that will do the migration of the db for you.
There are a number of notes and alerts on Oracle's Metalink web site that deal with various issues regarding these steps, you should review them before you upgrade.
Hope this helps,
Jon

Jon,
It sounds like you're on to something here. Can you give me specific links where you found this information? I will continue to research myself, but you can save me some time :)
Thanks again to everyone for their responses! EVERY response has helped!
