VSAM equivalent in UNIX

We are migrating a mainframe application using VSAM files to UNIX .We are converting JCLs to Shell Scripts. So,I just wanted to know if there is any indexed file access mechanism in UNIX(Similar to VSAM-KSDS on S/390). Please suggest what would be the analogy of VSAM files in UNIX?

Re: VSAM equivalent in UNIX

We went through the same process about 8 years ago. I know of no VSAM equivalent in Unix. All our data ended up going into the database and every process we used was re-written to use the database.
