after migrating to ux11, ingres is not working anymore.
Last weekend I migrated my K380 to UX11. after that, ingres II is not working anymore. ingstart complains "The licensefile is not valid".
This is what I did to try to get ingres to work:
mounted all ingres filesystem (jnl, work, data etc...)
copied /ca_lic to root
copied the S900ingres files to its place.
copied /opt/I1/ingres dirs to its original place.
Please let a rabbit pop up %/\ }}

Re: after migrating to ux11, ingres is not working anymore.
Hi Donald,
You identified the issue by yourself: "The licensefile is not valid".
I'm afraid the only solution is to get a new license file from your Ingres salesrep, as he's the only person who will make the rabbit pop up :-(
Best regards,
Dan

Re: after migrating to ux11, ingres is not working anymore.
Dan,
Did contact my ingrescontact, and he told me ux 11 has a different ingres install (hpb instead of hp8). He advvises me the following scenario:
- go back to 10.20
- unload all ingres databases
- upgrade to 11
- install ingres for ux 11
- reload databases.
I do not much like this scenario. I do not understand why a program working under 10.20 should not work under 11. The software for the OS's are binary compatible, right?
Does anyone know a better (quicker) trick?
Thanx in advance....
