Like I suggested earlier, please delete the device files and re-create them. I'm pretty sure this will solve your problem.

The ioscan indicates that the tape is device 1m or 1mn (non-rewind). What happens if you use that devices w/ the application's backup software?

We have sorted out the problem. Contacted HP person he has given the solution

# cd /dev/rmt
# mv 0m test
# ln -s omn om

This solved our issue.

I am able to take backup from sap application.
