Re: help

Try removing the "k" option like this:

ioscan -fnH1/0/2/0

Re: help

Hi,

Boring bit first, the IBM atdd driver is not supported on hpux and I have seen a lot of problems when this driver is used. I'm not sure it is the problem here though.

If you notice the FC card itself is not claimed on the second ioscan. Is it possible this is not seated correctly? Otherwise, try a like-for-like test, use :

# ioscan -fH1/0/2/0/0.1.23.255.2.6.0

And see what you get.

Regards,

James.

Re: help

A bit strange.

Can you run the following commands :

# ioscan -fnCfc
# ioscan -fnCfcp
# tdutil /dev/td0 stat | grep -i bad

Also, can you check for any system errors by running "dmesg" and "grep vmunix /var/adm/syslog/syslog.log". Don't print the full output of these commands, only what you feel may be relevant.

Also, are you having any problems accessing the tape drives for backups etc?

James.

Re: help

I think there is no errors ,the attachment is the output.
Ibm says that 3590 driver does not support A5158A crossing more than 2 switches,is it?
But I have one 3590 driver attatch to the same switch, while others are attached to different switches.
So I think that there should be different status of these drivers ,but the fact is that the drivers's status are the same.

Re: help

Hi,

So it looks like it was the atdd driver after all? I've experienced numerous problems with it on hpux, notably causing panics. If what IBM said was correct you should still be able to see the tape attached to the switch at 1/0/2/0/0.6 as this is the same switch the server is connected to I believe?

I think the stape driver may solve the problem. If you can get some downtime to test this, I would try deconfiguring atdd from the kernel and adding stape and see how you go.

James.
