Re: history perfview

PerfView does not actually keep any history. The data that is available is controlled by the MeasureWare product. This control is configured in the /var/opt/perf/parm file with the size option of the scopeux log files set in megabytes. You may need to increase the sizes of the log files to retain more info. Within PerfView you have the option of selecting Manual Week Month Year All etc. Use the Manual option to set a longer interval.

Re: history perfview

Also, you should not have more than 365 days of data in your measureware log files. Newer versions will automatically purge any data older than 365 days. If you want to retain historical data, extract the data periodicly and archive the files. The limit on the size of an extract file is 64Mb, so you can setup a cron job to run extract periodically and save old data before it is rolled out of the logs. The amount of data stored in the raw log files is determined by settings in the /var/opt/perf/parm file. Whether you do this monthly, weekly or daily depends on how much data you are collecting per day, the parm file settings for the raw log files, and the interval you normally view in perfview. If you want to archive all the data collected by measureware and a full month's data exceeds the 64M limit on extract files, then you can either drop a data class or extract by the week instead of the month.
